American ginseng is deeply rooted in the North American Herbal tradition. Due to its reputation as a general tonic for long life, energy, and sexual vigor millions of pounds of American ginseng are shipped to China every year. This has resulted in over-harvesting, and Ginseng is now considered threatened or endangered in ten states. Thus, Fred’s Formulas does not use wildcrafted American Ginseng, rather uses only organic, sustainably grown plants.
