Many people think they are allergic to goldenrod, but their sneezes are usually caused by ragweed which blooms at the same time.
It is historically used in the treatment of upper respiratory inflammation, especially where there is overproduction of mucus. It can also be used as an anti-inflammatory urinary antiseptic. As a gargle, it can be used in laryngitis and pharyngitis.
